Frank Morris Hunter Jr.

Born May 25, 1943, in Lynchburg, he was the son of Lucille Crist Hunter and the late Frank Morris Hunter, Sr.

Mr. Hunter was a retired yardmaster for CSX Transportation, where he served for over 40 years. He was also a member of Oakdale Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife and mother, Mr. Hunter is survived by two sons, Rick Hunter and his wife Sharon of Madison Heights and Todd Hunter and his wife Jenifer of Suffolk; one daughter, Amy Greene and her husband Eric of Amherst; two sisters, Gloria Parnell and her husband Stewart of Lynchburg and Vickie Jennings and her husband David of Madison Heights; and nine grandchildren, Melissa, Lauren, Will, Hannah, Amanda, Lindsey, Emily, Sarah and Natalie; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted, 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 16, 2011, at Oakdale Baptist Church with the Rev. Marvin Suitt officiating. Interment will follow at the Hunter Family Cemetery.

The family will receive friends, 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, June 15, 2011, at Whitten Monelison Chapel and at other times at the residence of Mrs. Lucille Hunter.
