Born in Lynchburg, November 10, 1951 he was the son of the late Alfred Harold Wood and Iva Snyder Wood. He retired from C.B. Fleet after 41 years of service. Harold enjoyed working in his garage. He was a skilled woodworker and loved building different things. His neighbors would often stop by to talk while Harold was in the garage. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Harold Alexander “Alex” Wood, Jr. and wife Angel of Big Island; one daughter, Amy Wood Wingfield and husband James of Amherst; four grandchildren, Cameron Wood, Skyler Wood Anderson, Evelyn Wingfield and Arya Wingfield and one sister, Linda Burks of Amherst.
A memorial service celebrating his life will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, October 21, 2018 at Whitten Monelison Chapel with the Rev. Ronald Davidson officiating. The family will receive friends following the service until 4:30 p.m.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
