Born May 13, 1944, in Madison Heights, he was a son of the late Harry Allen Dowdy and Virginia Adcock Dowdy. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Charles Adcock; his maternal grandparents, Clyde and Nettie Stinson Adcock; and paternal grandparents, Tresha and Elsie Vest Dowdy.
Survivors include his aunt, who he lived with, Lucille Fulcher; a brother, Dale Allen Dowdy; and a sister, Doris Marie Lee, all of Madison Heights; cousins, Russell, Charles, Deborah, Janice, and Scott.
The family will receive friends Sunday, from 3-5:00 p.m. at Whitten Monelison Chapel, and at other times at the residence.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 am on Monday, March 4, 2013, at Fort Hill Memorial Park, by the Rev. Charles Stinson.
