

Born on August 14, 1950 in Lynchburg, he was the son of the late Thomas Lee and Fayetta Lee. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Ronnie Lee; and a sister, June Denton.
James was always an extremely hard worker and retired (for the first time) from the Lynchburg Foundry. After retirement, he began working at Food Lion for over 13 years where he made numerous lasting friendships over the years. When he wasn’t working, he loved spending time on the river and going on vacation, especially to the beach. He loved his dogs and enjoyed spending time at the family farm. Above all, he loved spending time with his family, especially with his three daughters. He will be greatly missed by his wife, daughters and granddaughter.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Sadie Arlene Lee; his three daughters, Amanda Rae Lee, Miranda Lee Langlois (Joseph) and Vivian Marie Lee; a granddaughter, Meadow Jean Langlois; a sister, Regina Fulcher; an aunt, Hope Lang; his nieces, Marla Denton Buck (Joseph) and Cheryl Hughes (Robbie); and his nephew, Brian Denton (Amy).
A graveside service will be conducted on Thursday, February 29, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Meade Cemetery officiated by Pastor Dr. David Turner.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. at Whitten Monelison Chapel.
