Janet Campbell Beard Blanchard

Born April 8, 1938 in Richmond, she was the daughter of the late Mary Lou Beard and was also preceded in death by a half-brother, Charles Wesley Beard and a half-sister, Vivian Inez Childress. She was a retired laundry supervisor with Grace Lodge Nursing Home and was a member of Thomas Road Baptist Church.

Janet is survived by six children, Kenneth A. Blanchard and William T. Blanchard and wife, Carla, all of Rustburg, Gary K. Blanchard and wife Melissa of Appomattox, Larry N. Blanchard and wife Tammy of Forest, Dennis W. Blanchard of Orlando, FL, and Lisa B. Osmulski and husband Patrick of Concord; a half-brother, Jerry Childress and wife Nancy; a half-sister, Rita C. Foust; fourteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, March 20, 2014 at Whitten Monelison Chapel with Pastor Carey Forbus officiating. Interment will follow at Briarwood Memorial Gardens in Amherst County.

The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at Whitten Monelison Chapel.
