John Hendrix Jr.

Born September 16, 1931, in Amherst County, he was the son of the late John Hendrix, Sr. and the late Laura Haynes Hendrix and was also preceded in death by three brothers, Henry, Edward, and Herman Hendrix and three sisters, Eyvonne Tinsely, Augustine Richardson, and Elsie Massie. Mr. Hendrix was retired from Amherst Motors and was a member of Piney Hill Baptist Church in Amherst County.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Patrick Hendrix and wife Alena of Richmond, IN; two sisters, Emma Richardson of Amherst and Ocie Cabel of Madison Heights and a devoted friend, Betty Lou Dyson, whom our family could not have done without.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at Piney Hill Baptist Church in Amherst County with the Rev. Edward Jones, Sr. officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends, at the church, Tuesday, for one hour prior to the service, beginning at noon and other times at the residence.
