Joshua Allen Collins

Born February 8, 1980 in Rockingham County, NC, he was the son of Bobby Wayne Collins (Connie Craig) of Madison Heights and Barbara Hodgson Pennell (Kenneth) of Princeton, West Virginia. Joshua was an employee of the Amherst County Department of Public Works.

Joshua was preceded in death by grandparents, Carl and Kay Collins and his step-mother, Katherine Collins.

In addition to his parents, Joshua is survived by his girlfriend and love of his life, Jessica Hamilton of Madison Heights; four children, Jeremy, Adam, and Destiny Hamilton, all of Madison Heights and Jacob Collins of Collinsville; a brother, Michael Collins of Lenoir, NC; grandmother, Mary Garcia of Stoneville, NC; two aunts, Sheila East of Madison, NC and Carol Coleman (Larry) of Stokesdale, NC; one uncle, James Collins (Pam) of Madison, NC and a host of other family and friends.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, November 30, 2017 at Whitten Monelison Chapel with Spiritual Leader Matt Latimer officiating. Interment will follow in the Hamilton Family Cemetery on Cedar Gate Road.

The family will receive friends from 6-7:30 p.m., Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at the funeral home and other times at his residence.

The family wishes to thank the Cardiovascular I.C.U. Unit (4th floor) at the U.V.A. Medical Care Center for the care provided for Joshua.
