Born January 21, 1941 in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Otey Hanson and Minnie Martin Wilson and was also preceded in death by a son, James Leonard Kirk, Jr.; four brothers, Joe, Claude, Elbert, and James Henson and two sisters, Catherine Higgins and Nellie Yeater. She was a former employee of Liberty University and was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister.
Mrs. Kirk is survived by a son, Corbin K. Kirk; a daughter, Rebecca K. Stanley and husband Forrest; a sister, Lorene Cyrus, all of Madison Heights; a granddaughter, Crystal Stanley and two great-grandchildren, Kaleb Stanley and J.R. Campbell.
A memorial service will be conducted at 6:00 p.m., Friday, November 13, 2015 at Whitten Monelison Chapel with Pastor Daryl W. Donald, Sr. officiating.
