Kathleen Trent Tweedy

Kathleen Trent Tweedy, 91, of Madison Heights, died Friday, September 24, 2010. She was the devoted wife of the late Rector "Rex" Wilbur Tweedy.

Born March 2, 1919 in Appomattox County, she was the daughter of the late Charles Faulkner and Rosa Milo Eller Trent and was also preceded in death by one brother, Charles R. Trent and one sister, Myrtis Harding. Mrs. Tweedy was a former employee of J.R. Millner Company and a retired Bridal Consultant with Bowen Jewelry Company. She was a member of Oakdale Baptist Church.

Mrs. Tweedy is survived by one son, Steven Rex Tweedy and wife, Pat; one daughter, Wanda Gail Jedelsky and husband, Jim, both of Madison Heights; two brothers, Lee F. Trent and wife, Nancy of Madison Heights and Clayton D. Trent and wife, Shelby of Lynchburg; four sisters, Glenola Trent and husband, Hurley of Lynchburg, Rosabell Tweedy and Helen Johnson, both of Madison Heights and Jean Childress and her husband, Pete of Rustburg; four grandchildren, Todd Jedelsky and wife, Sara, Beth Lester and husband, George, Mike Tweedy and wife, Allison, and Stephanie Tweedy and five great-grandchildren, Will Lester, Kathleen "Kate" Lester, Jackson Jedelsky, Ben Jedelsky, and Summer Tweedy.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at Whitten Monelison Chapel with the Rev. Terry Wornstaff and the Rev. Marvin Suitt officiating. Interment will follow in Briarwood Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m., Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at Whitten Monelison Chapel and other times at the home of Gail and Jim, 136 Woodbine Road, Madison Heights.
