Born Florence, SC, he was the son of the late Luther B. DeWitt and Exie Jones DeWitt. He was US Army veteran, a retired self-employed insurance agent and was a member of Faith Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra DeWitt; two children, Cynthia Kirshy and Jonathan DeWitt both of South Carolina; step-daughter, Vicky Baxley; step-son, James Overstreet; Sister-in-law, Linda Deters; three grandchildren and two special grandchildren, MariahDeters and Rachel Conklin.
A memorial service will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, November 1, 2018 at Whitten Monelison Chapel with Pastor Brian Hudson officiating. The family will receive friends following the service until 7:30 p.m.
