Maxie Edward Goff

Born on August 5, 1918 in Big Island, he was the son of the late Ed and Nannie Goff. Maxie was a retired carpenter from Landon Cardwell Contractor and was a member of Chestnut Hill Free Will Baptist Church. He enjoyed making things with his hands through woodworking and working in his vegetable garden.

In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by his son, Mike Goff; his grandson, Barry Mays; and numerous siblings.

Maxie is survived by his daughter, Stella Goff and husband Kinkle; five grandchildren, Gary Mays and wife Tammy, Crystal Johnson and husband Kenny, Christopher Mays and wife Krista, Laura Radulski and husband Matt, and Claudia Butler and husband Brad; nine great grandchildren; three step great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; two sisters, Nina Goff and Martha Dolman; brother, Bill Goff; and numerous other family members.

A funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at Whitten Monelison Chapel with Pastor Roger Bevins and Pastor Larry Ross officiating. Interment will follow at Hunting Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 11 am until time of service.
