Nancy Glass Lindsey, 77, of Lynchburg went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, February 27, 2019, at The Summit after a courageous battle with dementia. She was the wife of 54 years to the late Charles Lionel Lindsey. Born July 23, 1941, in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of the late Robert Jones Glass, Sr. and the late Margaret Lloyd Glass.
Nancy was a retired hair stylist for Regis Salon. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She worked at General Electric in Lynchburg before becoming a stay at home mother. Nancy sold Avon and was a licensed cosmetologist with 20 years of service. Nancy was very talented in many ways including: cake decorating, wedding catering, flower arranging, oil painting and music (especially the piano). Nancy was a member of First Assembly of God for many years and attended Tree of Life Ministries up until her health no longer allowed for her to attend church.
In addition to her husband and parents, Nancy was preceded in death by one son, Brian K. Lindsey.
Nancy is survived by one son, C. David Lindsey and his wife Nicole of Lynchburg; one brother, Robert “Bobby” Glass, Jr. and his wife Jeanie of Lynchburg; one granddaughter, Ashlynn Lindsey; and other loving family members and friends.
The family would like to thank the staff on the James River Unit at Summit Health and Rehab for their dedicated care over the past five years.
A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 4, 2019, at Tree of Life Ministries with Pastor J. Michael Dodson officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends 3-5 p.m., Sunday, March 3, 2019, at Whitten Monelison Chapel and at other times at the residence.
