

Born in Lynchburg, September 11, 1970, he was the son of the late Eugene Harvey Stratton, Sr. and Ida Austin Stratton. He was a driver for Torres Trucking. Richard enjoyed the outdoors, being in the mountains and fishing. He also loved the game of baseball. He was a loving father and grandfather.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Edward Douglas Stratton.
Survivors include his daughter, Nicole Stratton Booth and her husband Dennis of Lynchburg and his son, Richard Lee Stratton and his fiancé Ashley of Lynchburg; one brother Eugene H. Stratton, Jr.; one sister, Deborah Shipe; his granddaughter, Rayna Leigh Stratton; his close nieces and nephew, Amanda Stratton and Stephanie Stratton and Eddie Stratton; his special friend Samantha Humphreys and her daughter Keeleigh and friends Mark Hill and Debbie and Boogie Fitzgerald. He is also survived by Casey Owen, mother of his children and her daughter, Savannah Branham.
A memorial service celebrating his life will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, July 9, 2015 at Whitten Monelison Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service until 8:30 p.m.
