

Born May 1, 1935, in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of the late Wallace Reginald Flowers, Sr. and the late Helen Webb Flowers Vitale. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two brothers, Wallace R. Flowers, Jr and Cleveland Hunter Flowers.
Marie was a lifetime member of Grace Baptist Church in Madison Heights where she enjoyed years of worship and serving while building some of her most cherished friendships.
Ms. White was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Ms. White was the wife of Vernon W. White. She is survived by one son, Barry V. White, and his wife, Wanda; two daughters, Melanie W. Kidd and her husband, Ricky, and Melissa W. Blanks; five grandchildren which she referred to as her "Grands", Amanda W. Mills and her husband, Mike, Tonya S. Pafford and her husband, Tim, Jeremy V. White, Megan S. Ramsey and her husband, Chris, and Kelsey R. Blanks; five great grandchildren that she referred to as her "Greats", Landen Dean Mays, Emory Rose Pafford, Avery Megan Pafford, Hadley Sloan Pafford, and baby boy Ramsey due February 2016; a cherished cousin, Elizabeth Bryant; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other faithful friends.
The family would like to thank the many special people from Guggenheimer Health and Rehabilitation who cared for Ms. White.
The family will have a time of visitation and fellowship on Friday, October 16, 2015, from 7 until 9 p.m. at Whitten Monelison Chapel, Madison Heights. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 17, 2015, at Virginia Memorial Park, Forest, by the Rev. John Pickett and the Rev. Dan Lee.
Marie considered her family her greatest joy in life and found immense pleasure in sharing in their lives. She was loving, encouraging, forgiving, and faithful. She constantly reminded us to seek the Lord in all we do and to always "Be sweet". Her family considered her their pillar and will miss her earthly presence more than anything.
