Ruth Esther Gombos

Born on January 28, 1934 in Bourbon, Indiana. She was the last surviving child of the late Ernest and Mable Neidig. Her entire professional career was spent with Sears and Roebuck’s accounting department. She retired in 1991 to take an active role in caring for her grandchildren.

Her hands were never idle. She was a creative spirit which showed in her poetry, quilting, crocheting, and embroidery. Many of her delightful hats were distributed locally and shared as far away as St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her eldest son Gary Michael Gombos (Marina), and seven elder siblings.

Ruth is survived by daughters Julianne Lee and Anita Poleski (Steve), and son Randy Gombos (Amy). Six grandchildren; Carlina Muglia, Gabriella Muglia, Natalia Muglia, Matthew Gombos, William Gombos, and Michael Gombos and one great-grandchild, Vorian Muglia.

Ruth will join her husband in burial at the Amelia Veterans Cemetery during a private service.

Friends are invited to attend visitation and service’s beginning at 2:00 pm Thursday, February 26th at Amelon United Methodist Church.
