Susan Witherspoon Carr

Susan Witherspoon Carr, 88, of Amherst passed away peacefully Thursday, May 5, 2022 at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the wife of Russell Carr. Born in Pittsburg, PA on May 29, 1933 she was the daughter of the late Burton Witherspoon and Emily Frawley. She was a retired Administrator with Global School of Sports Ministry and a member of Rivermont Evangelical Presbyterian. She was also preceded in death by a son, Russell Mark Carr, a granddaughter Jessica Ornelas and two brothers, Bert Witherspoon and Garland Witherspoon. In addition to her husband she is survived by her children, Jill Goughour and Michael Carr both of Lynchburg and Alyssa Mahone and husband Michael of Forest; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
