Born May 5, 1944 in Lynchburg, he was the son of the late Thomas L. and Elsie B. Brooks and was also preceded in death by a brother, Frederick Fontaine Brooks and a sister, Gwen Jefferson. He retired from Lynchburg Foundry after thirty-two years of service.
Mr. Brooks is survived by his son, Carlton Brooks and wife Gwen of Madison Heights; his daughter, Angie Curran of Lynchburg; two step-children, Lori Midgley and husband Kevin of Madison Heights and John Creasy and wife Toni of Lynchburg ; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild and a special aunt, Verna Brooks of Lynchburg..
A memorial service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Monday, March 9, 2015 at Whitten Monelison Chapel with the Rev. Chris Brooks officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Tyreeanna U.M. Church Cemetery Fund.
