

Born February 25, 1953 in Farmville, he was the son of the late Willard Theodore Higgins, Sr. and the late Elmira McGhee Higgins. He was a machine operator and loyal employee with Glad Manufacturing, and was an avid hunter and member of the Willis River Hunt Club. Mr. Higgins was a member of Clifford Baptist Church
He was the devoted father to three children, Mickey Shannon Higgins of Cumberland County, Jennifer Higgins Davis and husband Sean of Crewe, and Forrest Bradley Higgins of Amherst; two brothers, Robert Lee Higgins and wife Jackie, of Richmond and Charles David Higgins of Farmville; four sisters, Ruby Higgins Mahan and husband Charles of Richmond, Kathlene Maude Higgins, of Midlothian, Alene Higgins Crews, of Keysville, and Carolyn Ann Higgins, of Farmville; and was "Papa Mickey" to three grandchildren, Brittany Lois Wood, Morgan McKenzie Davis, and Emma Regan Davis,
The family will receive friends tonight from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Clifford Baptist Church.
A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, January 7, 2011, at Clifford Baptist Church with Dr. Michael Fitzgerald and the Rev. Michael Yates officiating.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 8, 2011, at the Antioch United Methodist Church Cemetery in Cumberland County.
