William Gombos

Born on August 31, 1930 in Toledo, OH he was the last surviving child of the late Frank and Margaret Gombos. Bill served our country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He loved telling stories of his time in the Army. He retired from A & P Warehousing in Detroit, MI and enjoyed fishing, flea marketing, gardening, and music. Bill was a member of Amelon United Methodist Church.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Gary Gombos; five brothers; and one sister.

Bill is survived by his wife, Ruth Gombos; daughters, Anita Poleski (Steve) and Julianne Lee; son, Randy Gombos (Amy); six grandchildren; and one great grandchild.

As a proud veteran, he will be buried at Amelia Veterans Cemetery on Thursday, September 2, 2021.
