

Born in Lynchburg, he was the son of the late James Russell Story and the late Annie Eisemond Story. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Harold Story.
Bill was a member of Amelon United Methodist Church and was retired from Amerisource Bergin Corp. (formerly Strother Drug Co.) after 45 years of service. Bill was a family man and was devoted to his wife, children and grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, W. David Story, Jr and his wife, Susan, of Hanover, Dennis R. Story and his wife, Debra of Amherst and Pam S. Newbern and her husband, John, of Newport, N.C.; one brother, Charles Story and his wife, Pam, of Madison Heights; two grandchildren, Winter I. Jacynyk and Michael P. Jacynyk and his wife, Tasha; six great grandchildren, Andrew Reed, Nolan Reed, Kendall Foster, Rosemary Mott, Hannah Jacynyk and Madeline Jacynyk and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m., Monday, May 9, 2011, at Amelon United Methodist Church by the Rev. C. Douglas Pillow and Pastor Paulo Cesar DaSilva. Interment will follow, with Military Honors by American Legion Post 16 at Meade Cemetery.
