William Edward Tomlin

He was born on February 22, 1954 in Amherst County, son of the late Parrish Tomlin and the late Shirley Freeman.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers.

Survivors include his wife, Selby Hackett Tomlin; son, Shawn Cunningham; seven brothers and sisters, Harold L. Tomlin, Deborah F. Phillips (Arnold), Edwin A. Freeman (Ava), Ramona F. May (David), Randy Tomlin (Jo), Victor E. Freeman (Barbara) and Parry Tomlin (Melissa). He is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews.

William was retired from Archer Creek Foundry. He was an avid fisherman who loved his family and was a very kind and tender hearted man.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Oakdale Baptist Church, 1154 Brightwells Mill Rd, Madison Heights, VA 24572. The family will receive friends at the Freeman home place following the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Humane Society of Amherst County, 318 Shelter Ln, Amherst, VA 24521
