Alma Mae Monk, 76, of Campbells Creek, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 2, 2016, at Meadowbrook Acres Nursing Center. Alma was born in Charleston on May 2, 1940, to the late Fred Monk and Margaret Hodge. She was a loving mother and homemaker and a member of Spring Fork Missionary Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughter, Vickie (Todd) Pennell of Campbells Creek; sister, Crystal (Butch) Cantrell of East Bank; grandchildren, Jacob Malcolm, Kayla, Alysia, Talmage (TK) and Aidan Pennell; and great-grandchildren, Landon, Josie, Melody, Audrey, Journey, Kinlei and Alec. The funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 6, 2016, at Stevens & Grass Funeral Home, Malden, with Pastor Mike Long officiating. The burial will follow the service at Pence Cemetery, Spring Fork Drive, Campbells Creek. A visitation with family and friends will be held Wednesday, October 5, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
