Eugene was born in Charleston on July 7, 1929 to the late John Wesley and Honor Herndon Hunter. He was a Carpenter and a United States Army Veteran.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Teresa Bonham.
He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Lena Hunter; daughters, Mona Russell of Pinch and Brenda Hunter of Charleston; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren and two step-great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM Monday May 6, 2019 at Stevens & Grass Funeral Home, Malden with Pastor Richard Riffe officiating. Burial will follow at Donel C. Kinnard Memorial State Veterans Cemetery, Dunbar.
A visitation with family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home.
