Buddy was born on October 6, 1936 in Kanawha Co., WV. He was the son of the late Edith Carter and Alfred Carter. He is predeceased by his wife, Linda Quick Hackworth and son Gary Hackworth.
He is survived by his daughter, Tari Hackworth; son, Michael Hackworth (Fiancée Kim McBride); sister, Ruth Beard; sister-in-law, Patty Bruce (Frank).
Buddy served in the U.S. National Guard and the U.S. Navy from which he retired after 20 years of service. He also worked at Virga’s Pizza Crust of VA, Inc. for 30 years. He loved the outdoors, spending time with his family, and he was an avid WVU Mountaineer fan.
Funeral Services will be held at Montgomery Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel, London, WV, on Monday, January 29, 2024 at 11:00 am. Military Honors will be performed.
