He was born February 18, 1946, to the late R. Lawrence and Eula Madaline George. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife Betty; brothers, Clarence, James, Marvin, and Dallis George; and sisters, Norma Ratliff, Charlotte Wade, Verna Taylor, and Gladia “Blondie” White.
Gary worked for Purity Baking, Broughton Dairy, and ended his working career at the USPS. He loved gardening and could be found enjoying little league baseball games at his local field where he was also a coach for many years.
He is survived by his children, Gary “Dean” George, Jr., Brian (Tammy) George, and Lynae (Clint) Stone all of Campbells Creek; and sister, Darla (Mike) Bland of Seville, Ohio. He was most proud of his six grandchildren, Corey and Tristan (Callie) Stone, Nicole (Ian) Perry, Sonny, Luke and Madaline “Maddie Jo” George. Gary has also been blessed with four great-grandchildren, Avery and Eliza Perry and Huett and baby girl (arriving in February) Stone.
We would also like to thank his daughter-in-law, Tammy, and son-in-law, Clint, for being excellent caregivers to Gary during his battle with dementia.
