Genny was born in Yorkville, Ohio on June 29, 1932, to the late Ethel and Verna Baylis Thompson. She was a retired Hostess with AVI; a long-time member of Rensford Missionary Baptist Church where she played the piano for many years.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Mose Crowder Jr.; son-in-law, Raymond Pomeroy; daughter-in-law, Robin Crowder; and three brothers, Robert, Clifford and Norman Thompson.
Genny is survived by her children, Regina Pomeroy and Rex Crowder, both of Charleston; and her fur baby, Lulu.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 Noon Thursday, April 3, 2025, at Stevens & Grass Funeral Home, Malden, with Pastor Dana Clay officiating. Burial will follow at Hunter Cemetery, Charleston.
A visitation with family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
