

Isaac B. “Ike” Rose, 71, of Malden, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 21, 2016, at his home. He was born on May 13, 1945 in Charleston to the late John and Belva Huddleston Rose. Ike was a 1962 graduate of DuPont High School. He was a former employee for Industrial Rubber Products, Amherst Industries and part-time employee for Stevens & Grass Funeral Home. He was a past member of the Malden Volunteer Fire Department with over 25 years of service and was a member of Malden Baptist Church. Ike is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Betty C. Rose; daughters, Melissa Rose Hackworth of Malden and Jennifer (Shane) Alford of Milton; grandchildren, Brittany (Zach) Downey, Kirsten (Kadin) Young, Dylan Isaac Hackworth, and Abby, Bub and Alyson Alford; great-grandchildren, Alayna Downey and Ryker Helvey; sister, who raised him, Zula Ashman of Malden; niece, Nancy (Dan) Wilkerson of Malden; nephew, Dan Wilkerson of Melbourne, FL; and his beloved pets, Holly, Rigley and Bella. The funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 25, at Stevens & Grass Funeral Home, Malden, with the Rev. Dan Wilkerson and the Rev. Ron Lee officiating. Family and friends will gather for the visitation on Friday, June 24, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
