James Garfield "Jamie" Adams I

James Garfield “Jamie” Adams I, 67, of Charleston, born November 23, 1948, passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2016, at the Hubbard Hospice House Charleston. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar Garfield and Ella Louise Hunter Adams; and grandson, Jeremy Nathaniel Adams. Jamie is survived by sons, James Garfield Adams II and Brian Christopher Adams and wife, Lisa; brother, Michael Adams; sister, Donna Kay Adams Crompton and husband, John; grandchildren, Larissa Adams Davis, Hailey and Emma Adams, Dylan and Brooke Adams; great-grandson, Jake Austin Davis; nephews, Brandon and Elijah Crompton; and nieces, Alexis and Brooke Crompton. The funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 18, 2016, at Stevens & Grass Funeral Home, Malden. The burial will follow the service at Hunter Cemetery, Charleston. Family and friends will gather for the visitation from 11:00 a.m. until time of service on Saturday at the funeral home. Thank you to all his family and friends for loving Jamie and being there for him. The family would also like to express our gratitude and thanks to Johnny “John-Boy” Myers and Barbara Gail Slater for staying by Jamie’s side and caring for him throughout his illness and also to Hospice and the wonderful nurses who were there for him.
