Jerry Ellen Smith, 61 of McCormick, South Carolina went home to be with the Lord Saturday August 22, 2015 at the Petra Health & Rehab in McCormick. Ellen was born in Charleston on April 15, 1954 to the late John & Frona Simms Proctor. She was a Senior Receptionist for Avery Dennison Corp. with 18 years of service. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her son, John Boggess; sisters, Barbara Bartley & Robin Thacker. Ellen is survived by her husband, Gary Smith; sisters, Vickie Walker of Quincy, Louise “Lou” (Glen ) Davis of Florida; bothers-in-law, Roy Bartley of Campbell’s Creek and James Thacker of Pritchard; niece, Hope (Jimmy) Beasley of Campbell’s Creek; great nephew, Jakob Beasley of Campbell’s Creek. A celebration of Ellen’s life will be held Wednesday August 26, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Stevens & Grass Funeral Home, Malden with Rev. Fred Christian officiating. Burial will follow at Ward Cemetery, Ward. A visitation with family & friends will be held one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
