Joan Ann Smith

Joan was born in Putney on January 20, 1937, to the late Dewey and Fannie Bragg Carrow. She was retired from Kanawha Valley Radiologist; she enjoyed camping, the beach and playing Bingo.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Smith; brothers, Jack and Harold Carrow and an infant brother, John Paul Carrow.

Joan is survived by her sons, Darrell (Camille) Smith of Ravenswood, Jeff (Lori) Smith and Randy (Tina) Smith all of Campbells Creek; grandchildren, Jennifer (Tyler) Pitts, Matthew Smith, Andrew (Kay) Smith and Brooke Smith (Fiancé, Jacob Kessler); great-grandchildren, Owen, Bella, Zach, Ben, Gabe, Via; and a great-granddaughter due in June.

Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at Stevens & Grass Funeral Home, Malden with Pastor Corey Bradley officiating. Burial will follow at Montgomery Memorial Park, London.

A visitation with family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service.

The family would like to send a special thank you to Glasgow Health & Rehabilitation Center for the care she was given the past five months and to CAMC General 6 South for their recent care of Joan.
