Brad was born June 17, 1974, to his loving parents, Joe and Betty Beam. During his time on earth, he took every opportunity to learn everything he could. Using that knowledge, he received two degrees from WVU in Morgantown. For the last 20+ years, he has worked for the State of West Virginia, most recently working for the Department of Motor Vehicles. While he called himself “A-social…(he CHOSE not to talk to people if he didn’t have to…) he was always there to help someone if they needed even the most random information.
Brad is preceded in death by his mother, Betty Beam, his grandparents and one aunt. He is survived by his father, Joe Beam and stepmother, Mary Lincoln Beam of Charleston and brother, Chad of Belle, whom he always took care of, as well as a stepbrother and a stepsister and many cousins, aunts and uncles.
In his free time, if he wasn’t watching Jeopardy or other random TV shows/movies, he could be found listening to an audiobook or keeping stats at whatever baseball games he and Chad attended in their pursuit to see all the minor league baseball teams in the country. While he was never mechanically inclined, his talents were apparent in other areas of creativity, such as his ability to play piano from a very young age. He played the piano at Coal Fork United Methodist Church for twenty years.
The service will be held on Saturday, November, 18, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Coal Fork United Methodist Church, 451 Campbells Creek Drive, with Pastor Paul Coon officiating. The family will receive visitors from 12:00 to 2:00 PM.
It has been said that flowers may wither and die, but charitable contributions last forever, therefore, the family has asked that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Coal Fork UMC, PO Box 1666, Charleston, WV 25326 or The 3 Betties Foundation, Inc. 3325 W DuPont Ave, Belle, West Virginia 25015.
