Chris lived in Forked River for most of his life; he and Denise raised their family in Waretown for 20 years before moving to Toms River.
His parents Robert Ewan and Nancy (Cranmer) Ewan predecease him.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Denise, his loving sons; Christopher Ewan and his wife Jackie of Bricktown, Tyler Ewan and Nicole Pederson of Barnegat, Robert Ewan and Alexis Tollner of Toms River, and Michael Ewan of Toms River and his cherished grandchildren; Aubrey, Carson and Savannah. He is also survived by his devoted siblings; brothers, Neil Ewan of Forked River and Robert Ewan and his wife Lisa of Waretown and his sisters; Laurie Hammarstrom and her husband Randy of Morganville and Michele Ewan of Morganville,
As well as his many nieces and nephews, who he loved tremendously.
Chris was a plumber for over 35 years. He lived, breathed and loved it 6 days a week, taking care of his customers and treating them as if they were part of our family. He would come home every day with stories of the people he met that day, stories about their pets and even stories about their grandchildren. Everyone meant something to him. No one was a stranger to Chris they were all his friends.
Chris always gave 100% of himself in all he did. He was the hardest working, most dedicated man anyone will ever have met.
Sunday’s were his happiest days, that was the day he spent with his grandchildren
Aubrey, Carson and Savannah. He was either taking them on walks or pushing them in the swing, but no matter what they were doing together, every second he spent with them he cherished. They were the light of his life!
He loved to go fishing and more than anything he loved his dog Oscar. Every day as he was coming through the door you could hear him yelling "hey Buddy.!!"
He was a very persistent man. He came to my job at the 7-11 every day to ask me out, even though I kept turning him down, he kept coming back until I finally said “yes.’
We had our rough times, but we always made it through it together as a family.
He was everything to our sons and me and took such good care of us.
He was so proud of the men his four sons have grown up to be. Three of them following in his footsteps to go into the plumbing trade. They even had a few years to work together, all hand in hand. They knew they could always call dad and he would have the answer.
Our hearts are broken, but we were so blessed to have him in our lives. He raised his sons to be men and taught them all how to work hard and what real work ethic was .He taught them to be proud of who they are. Now they are four grown hard working men with the same work ethics he had.
He always said "when it’s my time to go, it’s my time, and I'll be okay with that”, even though we weren't prepared for it to be this soon.
