George Zuttowski

George Zuttowski of Manahawkin, N.J., died May 25, 2011. Visitation will be at the Thos L. Shinn Funeral Home, 10 Hilliard Dr., Manahawkin, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be on Monday, May 30, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary of the Pines in Manahawkin. Cremation is private. George was a supervisor for the Ambulance Service in Newark, N.J., and he started the first Medevac service in Newark and all of New Jersey. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Local 4066, in Maplewood, N.J. An active member of St. Mary of the Pines Church in Manahawkin, George was a member of the altar services and a Eucharistic minister. George was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy; his daughter, Laura Jean King, and his sister, Irene. He is survived by his daughter, Linda Rachwalski of New Jersey; son, George Zuttowski Jr., and daughter, Michele Hoffman, of California; grandchildren, Kari Ann, Dawn, Rachael, Alexander, Erik, Rebecca, Shannon, Bridget, Hannah and Brian Sr., and great-grandchildren, Noelle, Sarah, Clare, Russell, Emma and Brian Jr. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Monsignor Ken Tuzneu and to all who share in their sorrow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the National M.S. Society in memory of Laura Jean King.
