Joseph B. Lupa beloved husband of Marie, brother of Mary Ann, and father to Ronald, Gerard, Michael, Doreen(Hobbs), Judith(Adan), Renee (Walton) and the two boys who predeceased their father, Jimmy and Joe.
He was born in Chicago, Illinois. Joe retired from AT&T System after 45 years, having first ben employed by Western Electric. He was an electrical engineer and subsequently an engineering instructor for the company. After being transferred to the CCE facility of AT&T in Hopewell, NJ, he was given the title of Senior Staff Engineer, a title not obtained easily.
He was passionate about teaching and while in Chicago initiated Confraternity of Christian Doctrine in many parishes and traveled to other states presenting that program for Catholic youth. Upon retirement, he became a member of Flotilla 7-12 of the US Coast Guard Auxiliary and organized a very well thought-of group of instructors who taught boating skills and safety and benefit of boat handlers. In October of this year for reasons of health, he retired from that phase of his life.
For business and pleasure, Joe traveled to many parts of the world. In addition to working for AT&T he was a fine jazz pianist and played gigs in and around Chicago for many years and carried a union card until a few years ago.
He will sorely missed by all who knew him.
