Joseph Policastro

Joseph was predeceased by his father, Joseph Policastro. He is survived by his beloved children; Marc Policastro and Nicole Policastro, his cherished mother Madeline, and his grandchildren Noah and Logan. He is also survived by his devoted brothers, Bill (Kristin) and Gary (Maryann) as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Joseph retired from Foodtown after many years of service as a Butcher. Upon his retirement, he attended the Culinary Institute of New York. After graduation, Joseph worked as a chef for Balducci’s Food Lover’s Market in New York City.

He was an avid fisherman and treasured the times when he and Marc would fish together, he enjoyed playing the guitar and loved watching movies, he was a bit of a movie buff. His love of cooking had him making many specialty dishes for his family to enjoy, especially on Christmas Eve, when he would cook the Italian tradition of the “Seven Fish” among other delicious dishes.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, August 31, 2023 from 6:00pm-9:00pm at Thos L. Shinn Funeral Home, 10 Hilliard Dr., Manahawkin, NJ.
