Born on April 3, 1943, at St. Joseph’s hospital in Patterson, NJ, Louis was the son of the late Louis and Barbara Stolarz (Kocor). Louis’ mother owned a restaurant and antique store in the house where he grew up, and this fueled his love of rummaging through garage sales for trinkets. During his travels out West Louis collected Native American jewelry and artwork. He was an avid walker and loved to hike around the Garret Mountain Reservation in Patterson and collect things in nature.
At home Louis was often found in his easy chair watching football, petting his poodle, Marcie, looking through mail and eating a sweet treat. Louis’ mailbox was full of letters from the charities and organizations he supported, including the Wounded Warrior Project and the Humane Society. Packages to his granddaughter would often include a dreamcatcher gift from one of these charities and a handwritten “God Bless” from Grampy Louis.
After training at the Great Lakes Naval Training Station in Illinois, Louis served in the Navy starting in 1960 and worked on a Destroyer. He was honorably discharged on April 20th, 1966. Louis also worked for the Postal Service as a technician for MERLIN computers and spent over ten years attending training schools with his friend, Mike Taylor.
Louis met his future wife, Patricia “Patty” Ann Brady through her online Ebay store. After five years together they were married on April 14th, 2009. Easy-going and genial, Louis’ pleasant refrain to his wife was often “Whatever you want, dear”, and he never went to bed without a kiss and a “You’re my Angel.”
Louis is predeceased by his brother, John; his sister Jean from Clearwater, FL; and his mother Barbara and father Louis. He is survived by a niece, Patty Earley; stepdaughter Bronwen (Matt); granddaughter Maria; his wife Patty and their poodle, Marcie.
