

Marilyn R. Scheimreif, a free-spirited and loving soul, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2026, in West Creek, New Jersey, surrounded by the love and warmth of her family. Born on November 3, 1952, in Palm Beach, Florida, Marilyn's life spanned 73 years filled with love, laughter, and adventure.
Marilyn was the cherished daughter of Dale and Mary Louise Baugh, who preceded her in death, alongside her beloved son, Kert Scheimreif. Marilyn's spirit and zest for life were unmistakable, and she carried the values instilled in her by her parents throughout her journey.
In 1970, Marilyn moved to Hawaii with the love of her life, Harry (Happy) Scheimreif, marrying in 1973. Together they shared a beautiful partnership that lasted for an incredible 56 years. Their bond was a testament to their unwavering commitment to one another and the family they built together. Marilyn was a devoted wife and a nurturing mother to her son, Keala, who inherited his mother’s adventurous spirit and love for family.
Marilyn's pursuit of education was a testament to her dedication and strength. She earned her GED and later obtained a nursing degree from community college, which led her to a fulfilling career managing intercontinental hotels. Her professional life was marked by a passion for service, where she touched the lives of many with her kindness and dedication.
Outside of her professional commitments, Marilyn found joy in her hobbies and interests, particularly her love of the water and fishing. In Hawaii she was embraced by the Bartolome family. Many fond memories were created as she spent countless hours by accompanied by family and friends. These moments reflected her free spirit and her enduring connection to nature.
Marilyn moved back to NJ with her family. Where she cared for and advocated for her special needs son. Joining the local Coast Guard operations out of Barnegat Light, she completed many courses to assist and maintain water safety.
Marilyn is survived by her devoted husband, Harry (Happy) Scheimreif, and their beloved son, Keala. Her family was her greatest treasure, and she poured her heart into nurturing their bonds, teaching them the importance of love, laughter, and living life to the fullest.
As we remember Marilyn, we celebrate a woman who was not just a family member, but a friend to many. Her free spirit, her love of family, and her ability to bring joy to those around her will forever be etched in the hearts of all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and a deep appreciation for life.
