Michael Loughran

Michael Patrick Loughran, 48, Barnegat, passed away Saturday December 8th at SOMC. Born in Trenton, he grew up in North Brunswick. He attended Immaculata High School and Middlesex County College. He was a self-employed freelance photographer.

He was predeceased by his parents, James and Mary Loughran. He is survived by his sisters, Mary (Loughran) McGinty and her husband Nick VanZile, of Manahawkin, Nora Caseiro of Tuckerton, Kathy Loughran brothers, Tom and James Loughran; beloved Uncle to his nieces and nephews, Shannon, Maura, and Liam McGinty; Mary, Brittney, Erin, and AJ Dercqu; Devon and Shayne Judge; Emilio and Armandito Gonzalez; close friends, Bill and Denise Judge, Armando and Sylvia Gonzalez; and his soul mate, Beth Scheraga.

He was a communicant of St. Mary’s Parish, Barnegat, and a member of the AOH Division 2, Forked River.

Mike’s life, though short, left an impression on all of those he met. His legacy to all of his family and friends will be the memory of his wicked sense of humor. He would stop at nothing to get a huge laugh, especially from a child. He lived life simply and positively. Mike was undoubtedly the world’s greatest Uncle. He loved and cherished his nieces and nephews and spent much quality time with them. He was the truest of friends and leaves a big void in many lives. His gift of appreciating art and beauty was reflected through his photography. He enjoyed music, literature, and theatre; logging in 28 performances of Phantom of the Opera. His passion for life was evident in all that he attempted.

Calling Hours will be Friday, Dec. 14th from 6 until 9 PM at the Thos L Shinn Funeral Home , 10 Hilliard Dr. Manahawkin, NJ 08050. Mass of the Christian Burial will be Celebrated Saturday, 10:AM at St. Mary’s Church , 747 W. Bay Avenue, Barnegat, NJ.08005

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to St. Jude’s Children Hospital, as the children in his life were most important to him.
