Patricia J Skodmin

Patricia J. Skodmin, 75, of Manahawkin, NJ entered into eternal rest unexpectedly on Friday, January 20, 2023. Born and raised in Elizabeth, NJ, she resided in Port Monmouth, NJ until moving to Manahawkin in 1979.

Patricia is now reunited in heaven with her beloved husband Richard who passed away in 2021. She is also predeceased by her parents William and Emily Pentz, her siblings William, Dorothy, Emily, Edith and John.

She is survived by her devoted son Richard and several loving nieces and nephews.

Patricia and Richard were a true love story; as teenagers, they met in Seaside Park, NJ while vacationing at their summer cottages with their families and they have been together ever since. Prior to Richard’s death, they were married for 55 years.

She enjoyed playing the poker machines in Atlantic City and was an avid NY Giants football fan. Her favorite time of the year was the summer; she especially enjoyed going to the beach and eating crabs. Above all else, the times spent with her family were her happiest moments, she loved being a “stay-at-home” mom.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 26 from 4:00pm-7:00pm at Thos L. Shinn Funeral Home, 10 Hilliard Dr., Manahawkin, NJ. A prayer service will be held at 8:30am on Friday, January 27 interment to follow at Brig. General Wm. C Doyle Veteran Cemetery, 350 Provinceline Rd., Wrightstown, NJ.
