Born in Brooklyn NY to polish immigrants . She is one of eight children. Sophie married the love of her life in Oct 1946; a WWII veteran, Philip Trantafilos. who passed away June 15 1969.
She is survived by her loving daughters Lisa Jones and her husband Walter and Christine Carney. She also leaves behind three grandchildren, Candance Pascale and her husband Justin Manahawkin NJ,Philip Carney and his wife Alison of Queens NY and Keith Carney and his wife Michelle of Staten Island NY. Sophie also has two great grand children, Tyler Pascale and Summer Pascale and one sister Loretta Leonard and numerous nieces and nephews.
She loved her job as a waitress and told many stories of people she met along her journeys thought-out her life. Becoming a great Grandmother made her very proud and was one of the greatest moments in her life.
