

Stanley Ignac Kaziewicz was born on August 2, 1928 in the village of Kleck, on the eastern border of Poland. At the outbreak of WWII at the age of 11, his family was taken civilian prisoner by the Russians and sent to a Siberian labor camp until the Russians joined the Allied Forces. He then left Siberia with his father to join the Polish army under British command in Palestine. Stanley was educated at the British military school in Palestine during WWII. He and his family later reunited in England. He came to the United States as a young man in 1949 where he worked at the Singer factory in Elizabeth, NJ until the outbreak of the Korean War. He joined the US Army in 1952 and was awarded the Bronze Star, among other medals, for his service. He married Mary Bohdan in 1959 and raised two daughters in Linden, NJ. Stanley retired from Bell Telephone Laboratories in 1994 after 32 years of service and has lived in Manahawkin since retiring.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary, daughter US Army Captain Suzanne Taussig and her husband Andrew Taussig, daughter Alicia Kaziewicz, his grandsons, US Army Captains Stephen & Michael Casares. both graduates of West Point, his brother Marian and wife Joyce of England, and numerous brothers and sisters in law, nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his mother, father, and sisters Irena and Jasia.
Visitation and prayers will be held on Thursday, July 27, 2017 from 2:00pm-6:00pm with a Blessing at 5:00pm at the Thos L. Shinn Funeral Home, 10 Hilliard Dr., Manahawkin, NJ.
A Military Honors Ceremony will be held Friday, July 28, 2017 at 11:30am at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 350 Provinceline Road, Wrightstown, NJ .
