
He attended Yeshiva Flatbush and Brooklyn College where he met his wife Barbara. He graduated medical school from the University of Liege in Belgium. He did his residency in Mountainside Hospital in Montclair and his fellowship in endocrinology at the Hershey Medical Center. He opened his medical practice in 1985 and deeply cared for his patients until his retirement in 2022. His hobbies included travel, playing the New York Times spelling bee, reading, cooking, and dancing the second line at the New Orleans jazz fest every April.
Dr. Nassberg is survived by his spouse Barbara of over 49 years; son Michael Nassberg; daughter Emily Nassberg; brother Julius Maiman and his wife Sheila; and sister Shirley Maiman.
Barton was preceded in death by his parents Max and Rae Nassberg.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, December 17, 2023 at 3:00 PM at Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, 44 Wilson Avenue, Manalapan, New Jersey 07726. Guests are kindly asked to begin arriving at 2:30 PM.
