Born and raised in Brooklyn, she lived on Louisa Street as a young girl, then Batchelder Street to raise her family, and moved to Manalapan, New Jersey to be closer to her family after she retired.
Prior to retiring, she was Administrative Manager for CNET (Center for Nursing Education & Testing), in Montvale, NJ. Before that she held the same position with NLN (National League of Nursing), New York City for 25 years. Both highly regarded organizations administered Nursing Board Exams. Beverly worked in the Testing Departments and worked her way up to more senior roles on those teams.
At home, she held the esteemed titles of Mom, Mommy, Mama, Grandma, Gigi, Mother-in-law, Aunt and Best Friend. As the matriarch of our small family, she always had wise words and gave great counsel. She was selfless and always put others first. She didn’t have a big life, but it was full, and she made an impact on everyone she met. She truly was a joy. Her happiness was your happiness and there were many kindnesses shown to her to make her later years just a little bit easier. She was grateful.
She loved her nieces Maddy and Steffi and their husbands, Lewis and Joseph and was included in many of the important milestones in their family’s lives.
She was predeceased by her husband Alfred, who passed away in 1985 and her siblings Betty Hellman and Irving Katzin.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her daughters Julie Rothman and her husband Eric Singer and Jackie Grossbaum and her husband Steven, her magnificent grandchildren Amanda Telzer and her husband Bryan and Tyler Grossbaum and his significant other Drew, and her adored great-grandson Mason Telzer. She glowed in Mason’s presence.
Funeral Services will be held at 9:00 am on Sunday, February 23, 2024 at Bloomfield Cooper Jewish Chapels, 44 Wilson Avenue, Manalapan, followed by interment at New Montefiore Cemetery, Farmingdale, NY.
