

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Charles Diament, who left us peacefully at the age of 87.
Charles will be remembered for his wisdom, his ever-present humor and prodigious vocabulary, his work ethic, and the love he had for his family and friends.
Charles is survived by his son Marc Diament and his wife Lisa, and by their daughter Rachael and her husband Craig Elman and their sons Logan and Jeremy. He is also survived by his daughter Michelle Diament Hoppenfeld and her children Jacob and Danielle.
Born in pre-war Poland, Charles lived as a refugee in Russia, and is a survivor of the Holocaust, an experience that shaped his remarkable resilience, strength, and intense appreciation for life. Arriving in the USA as a teenager, after living in Poland, Russia, and Paris, France, Charles focused on his education and supporting his parents by working with them at the factory. He earned a BS Engineering Degree at Stevens Institute of Technology while continuing to work and he eventually invested in and expanded the embroidery business in West New York, NJ. Together with his beloved and pre-deceased wife Gerry, who was his loving partner in all things, he built a family in Bergenfield, NJ, and expanded and operated highly respected and successful embroidery factories and related businesses, creating a life rooted in hard work, dedication, and family. Later in life, after 51 years of marriage, Gerry passed away, Charles found a dedicated loving companion in Barbara Feld and they lived on in Manchester, NJ.
His legacy lives on in the generations that follow him. May his memory be a blessing.
Please join his children, Marc and Michelle, and their families as we remember Charles who will be laid to rest at Mount Lebanon Cemetery on Sunday at 11am during a graveside ceremony.
The cemetery is located at 189 Gill Lane, Iselin, NJ.
Following the funeral, please join the family at Marc and Lisa’s home: 105 Stiles Place, Freehold, NJ.
Shiva will continue in Freehold on Monday and Tuesday: 12 to 4 pm and 6 to 8pm.
