Edith Silberman

Born in Manhattan, she spent most of her life in Brooklyn, NY, before moving to Delray Beach, FL in 1981, and has lived in Freehold Township since 2005.

Mrs. Silberman received both her BA and her MA from Brooklyn College. She was a Teacher for the New York City Board of Education and worked at Meyer Levin Junior High School, as well as John Wilson Junior High School in Brooklyn, NY, during her career. She retired from teaching in 1981.

She was pre-deceased by her husband Myron in 2005. Surviving are her children, Dr. Jerry & Denise Silberman, David & Brenda Silberman, Anne & Mordechai Altman, and Fran Persampieri, her 7 grandchildren and their spouses, Jason & Annie, Melissa & Chris, Josh & Allison, Lauren & Matt, Matt, Lindsay & Greg, and her 4 great-grandchildren, Quinn, Levi, Charlotte and Isabelle.

Services will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, July 17, 2014 at Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, 44 Wilson Avenue/Route 527 North, Manalapan. Interment will follow at Beth Israel Cemetery in Woodbridge. Donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, P.O.
