Eleanor Schwartz

Eleanor B. Schwartz, 81 of Monroe Township, NJ on Friday, February 24, 2017. Born in Brooklyn, NY she lived in Paramus before moving to Monroe Township in 1996. She was a graduate of the University of Maryland with a major in British Literature and received her Masters in Education from Albany State University.

Eleanor was the Chairman of the Paramus Board of Recreation, taught English in the Paramus and Bergen County Special Services educational systems. In addition to writing children’s books Eleanor was Copywriter for Huffman Koos furniture stores. Eleanor enjoyed traveling, book clubs, interior design and golf.

She lost her beloved husband of 58 years Fred Schwartz in 2016 and is survived by her devoted children: Steven H. Schwartz (Tracey) of Macon, Georgia and Audrey Shapiro (Neil Weiner) of Holland, Pennsylvania. She is also survived by her adored grandchildren: Amy, Matthew and Brandon.

Gravesite service and entombment will be held Monday, February 27, 2017 at Beth Israel Cemetery, Woodbridge, New Jersey at 11:00AM,Sanctuary of Israel Mausoleum.

The period of Mourning will be observed at the Schwartz Residence 31 Dawson Lane, Monroe Township, New Jersey Monday evening. Also, at the Shapiro/Weiner residence at 100 Michael Road, Holland, Pennsylvania on Tuesday,
