Mr. Lewin was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was a member of both the Freemasons and the Knights of Pythias for over 55 years. He retired to Greenbriar at Whittingham where he lived for many years.
George was preceded in death by his wife Harriette of 59 years in May 2010.
He is survived by his son Harris Lewin and his wife Rosane Oliveira; daughter Marcy Rosenblum and her husband Izio; 5 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, December 15, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, 44 Wilson Avenue, Manalapan, New Jersey 07726 followed by a committal service at 12:45 PM at Beth Israel Cemetery, 1098 Woodbridge Center Drive, Woodbridge, New Jersey 07095.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in George's memory may be made to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, 100 Raoul Wallenberg Place, SW, Washington, D.C. 20024 (www.ushmm.org).
