Herb was born in Brooklyn on February 19, 1929. He met his future wife Rhoda Weinstock, while working at her brother's candy store in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Together, they started a family in the Bronx before moving to Commack, Long Island. Upon retirement, Herb and Rhoda relocated to Manalapan, New Jersey.
Herman proudly served as CPL in the US Army Reserves during the Korean War.
Herman was predeceased by his wife of 67 years, Rhoda (née Marder) Weinstock and his parents, Israel and Jennie Weinstock.
Herb is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Marty and Carol Weinstock of Farmingdale, New Jersey; his daughter and son-in-law Abbe and Jeff Held of New York City; his grandchildren Craig (Lisa) Weinstock of Wall Township, Marci (Matt) Miller of Murrysville, Pennsylvania, Ilana Held and Scotty (Clara) Held of New York City; his great grandchildren, Zack Weinstock, Julie Weinstock, Ryan Miller and Tyler Miller.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, February 19th at Mount Ararat Cemetery in Farmingdale, New York.
