

Born at French Hospital in New York City, Jodie grew up in Howard Beach, Queens and graduated from John Adams High School in Queens. After graduation, she worked as a secretary in Manhattan until eventually meeting her late husband Kenneth (Kenny) Scott Hirsh. Jodie and Kenny married in 1978 and moved to an apartment in Brooklyn. They had two sons, Matthew Sam Hirsh and the late Michael Eric Hirsh, and later bought a home in Aberdeen, New Jersey to raise their family. A devoted wife and mother, Jodie dedicated her life to family and worked to instill strong family values in her children. She relished long days at the Jersey Shore with friends and enjoyed traveling, playing mah-jongg and spending time with loved ones.
Jodie was preceded in death by her late husband Kenny, son Michael, twin brother Harvey Rubin, and parents Martin Rubin and Roslyn Sirkus Rubin. She is survived by her son Matthew, her brother George Rubin, and several sister- and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.
A service will be held graveside at Mount Lebanon Cemetery, in Iselin, NJ at 11:00 AM on Friday, November 21, followed by Shiva at the family’s home, 61 Diamond Spring Drive in Monroe Township, NJ.
