Born in Tel Aviv in 1951, Sara was raised there and met the love of her life at the age of 18. Soon after, in 1970, Sara and Ariel tied the knot. Wanting a better life for their family, in 1977, with only a few hundred dollars to their name, they risked it all and set off across the world to the Land of the Free with three children under the age of 5 in tow.
It was during this time that Sara taught herself how to read, write, and speak English by watching Sesame Street and Mister Rogers' Neighborhood with her children. In 1980, Sara and Ariel purchased their first home in Lakewood, where she and Ariel raised four children, helped raise their first grandchild, and proudly received her citizenship. In 1998, they moved to Sayreville. As her family continued to grow, Sara was blessed with more grandchildren, whom she fondly cherished and loved being around.
In 2003, she learned that Ariel had fallen terminally ill, and in 2005, she moved to Monroe Township in a 55+ community. Sara dropped everything to become his primary caregiver for nine years until Ariel passed away, surrounded by loved ones, in 2012.
She moved a few more times before settling in her final home in Freehold. Sara was a woman of many talents, including diamond cutting, cabinetry, cooking, baking, being a devoted stay-at-home mother, and caregiving, to name a few. Her baklava, banana bread, cakes, and cheesecakes were unmatched and lovingly made for family and anyone lucky enough to receive them. Throughout her life, she created meaningful friendships that lasted a lifetime. Sara always looked forward to visits back home with her family and traveling the world with her husband.
Sara was a strong-willed woman who knew what she wanted in life and loved just as fiercely. Until her very last breath, she thought of others before herself. She was truly one of a kind; a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, and will be sorely missed.
Daughter of the late Eliyahu and Marsel Binyamin, she was also predeceased by her beloved husband, Ariel, who passed in 2012.
Surviving are her children, Oron Yehudaioff and his wife, Smadar; Ophira Dubhorn and her husband, Clinton; Orit Daniels and her husband, Michael; and Sharon Cavallaro and her husband, Anthony; her grandchildren, Ariel Zeek, Mattie Lucas and her husband, Kauaii; Jasmine Yehudaioff, Julianna Daniels, Benjamin Dubhorn, Jonathan Yehudaioff, Ryan Daniels, Anthony Cavallaro, and Shoshana Cavallaro; and her great-grandchildren, Jeffrey, Sara, and Erica Zeek.
